Distributed Control System (DCS) upgrade at Turbine Governor Oil System ,for Kapar Energy Venture (KEV) Unit 3 Power Plant.

Our Power Generation team, spearheaded by PESTECH Technology Sdn. Bhd. (“PTECH”) had successfully upgraded the Control System, Turbine Governor Oil System for Kapar Energy Venture’s (“KEV”) Unit 3 power plant.

The delivery marks a new breakthrough for PTECH as a Malaysian engineering company specialised in power system generation, automation and optimisation to undertake a 300 mW power plant upgrade works. KEV is the second largest power plant in malaysia and the only power station in Malaysia with triple fuel firing capability (gas, oil and coal). In this project, PTECH is responsible for the complete upgrade of the Distributed Control System (DCS), Boiler Protection System (BPS), Turbine Control Systems (TCS), Turbine Protection System (TPS), Turbine Supervisory Instrument (TSI) and conversion to high pressure Turbine Hydraulic Governor Oil System at KEV’s Unit 3 at Kapar, Klang.

This is a significant milestone achievement for our power generations control and optimization team. With these, PTECH can explore to provide sustainable optimization upgrades for existing thermal power plant in Malaysia and in the regions towards mix fuel solution.
